§ 02 — Manifesto
A small act of trail joy.
Six years ago, a woman in Ontario put a single yellow rubber duck on a stranger’s Jeep. She left a note that said, “Nice Jeep.” A few years later, three quarters of a million people were doing it back.
The tradition belongs to the community. DuckCrate exists to keep your dashboard stocked — one original collector duck every month plus four great ones to give away. So you’re never the person who showed up empty-handed, and the duck you keep on your dash is one you’ll actually want to keep.
A meaningful share of every box is donated to a charity the community votes on each season.

§ 03 — The Craft
Sketch. Sculpt. Paint.
Every DuckCrate original starts on paper, gets sculpted into a master, cast in a small silicone mold, and hand-painted in our Highland UT studio. No bulk overseas runs, no stock duck molds. Each character is its own animal.
01 · Sketch
Concept drawings on the wall. We test each character until the wave-giver, the navigator, the wrench — they each feel right.
02 · Mold
Hand-poured silicone molds, small runs only. A new mold per character per month. Old molds get retired, not reused.
03 · Paint
Detail brush, dot of dark navy, tiny insignia, a name on the chest. Each duck signed off by the studio before it ships.
§ 04 — Where they live
On the dash.
Where it all starts.
Every duck has a first home and a final home. The first is your dashboard — the one you keep, the rare original, the duck that rides shotgun every day. The final is somebody else’s parking lot — a duck they’ll keep too, and pass forward when the moment’s right.

Twelve originals.

Each month has its own DuckCrate-original character with a name and a backstory. The first eight launch as Trail Crew; the rest unlock as we go. Skip any month if a character isn’t your thing. Cancel any time.

What does the custom look like each month?
Each month features one named character — The Co-Pilot, The Recovery Boss, The Trail Spotter, etc. Each one has a backstory, individual numbering, and a tiny painted detail (a strap, a cap, goggles, a chest insignia). See the full calendar above.
Do I have to own a Jeep?
Nope. The tradition started with Jeeps and that’s our community, but anyone who wants to leave a duck on a stranger’s vehicle is welcome. Wrangler, Bronco, Tacoma, minivan — quack on.
When does the first box ship?
First boxes ship the week of July 15, 2026, timed to Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival. You’ll get a heads-up email five days before charge so you can skip or confirm.
Can I really cancel any time?
Yes. Skip a specific month with one tap, or cancel your subscription outright. You only pay when a box is about to ship. Annual subscribers can pause or roll their balance if life happens.
What’s in the duck-pass card?
A foil-stamped passport that lives in your wallet. Punch a hole each time you give a duck away. Trade them with friends. Founding members get a numbered card.
Tell me about the QR tag.
Each duck ships with an optional tag you tie to its neck. When someone finds your duck, they scan the QR, and you get a notification with a photo of where their vehicle was. Or skip the tag and stick with the classic note.
Why is this better than buying ducks on Amazon?
